The last few months have been filled with quiet activity, setting up this new and exciting organisation, putting together all the foundations in readiness for welcoming the membership.
During the coming days and weeks, we’ll be preparing for “the season”; the time of the year when most shows and competitions are held. Many of us already have several entries in our diaries for 2025 and look forward to applying our skills and expertise. To prepare for these events, we’ll be taking a close look at show schedules, carefully reading the rules and the class details before trying out the recipe, following the knitting pattern or brushing up on the latest advice about sustainability in floral art.
It’s also the time of the year when new judges begin their training. Following a short introduction, they’ll spend the Summer shadowing qualified judges and gathering experience before a final session consolidating their skills in preparation for assessment.
The Association of Show and Competition Judges is welcoming new members and building a network of experienced and qualified judges across England and Wales.
We begin 2025 with optimism and look forward to exciting times ahead!
